Leapmotor Makes Its Debut on Fortune China 500 – A Rising EV Star Breaks Through
Leapmotor, the fast-rising new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, has officially made its debut on the 2025 Fortune China 500 list, marking a significant milestone for the young automaker.
Unveiled on July 22, this year’s list includes 18 automotive companies, with Leapmotor joining industry giants like BYD, SAIC, Geely, NIO, and Chery. The rankings are based on total revenue from the previous fiscal year. Leapmotor’s entry signals its emergence as a strong contender among China’s top enterprises.
In 2024, Leapmotor achieved a revenue of 32.16 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 92%, and turned profitable a year ahead of schedule in Q4. The company delivered nearly 300,000 vehicles globally, doubling its annual sales and ranking 11th among global NEV brands.
The momentum has continued into 2025. In the first half of the year (January–June), Leapmotor delivered over 220,000 units, maintaining its position as the top-selling EV startup in China.
Its international expansion, powered by its strategic partnership with Stellantis Group, has also gained traction. Leapmotor now exports to over 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific—making it the #1 exporter among Chinese EV startups in H1 2025.
“By keeping R&D in-house and pricing based on cost, we give customers more value—smarter, higher-quality EVs that don’t break the bank,” said Zhu Jiangming, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Leapmotor.

Analysts attribute Leapmotor’s rapid growth to its commitment to in-house R&D. Over 60% of its vehicle cost comes from self-developed components, including core systems like powertrain and electronics. Innovations such as the industry-first 8-in-1 electric drive and centralized “Four-in-One” E/E architecture have helped the brand deliver high-tech products at competitive prices.
